Upon Certification, the individual is certified to conduct Yoga Classes, Workshops, Retreats, Train and Certify 200 Hour & 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training.

This is a statement of acceptable ethical and professional behaviour by which all certified Schools must pledge to abide by, conducting the School/Centre in a professional and ethical manner.

Training Standards and Requirements
Standards include, but are not limited to the following OR Equivalent Training in any Tradition or Teaching:

The 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course must be led by an E-500 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher (E-500 CYT) or Certified Grand Master or Equivalent in any Tradition or Teaching.

Prerequiusite:
Only candidates who have already completed a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training or equivalent training will be eligible for this certification unless an exception has been granted under the Special Category System.

80% of the entire training must be in Contact Hours

Hours mentioned here include any that which must be covered in prior 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings. So, in effect, a student who has in the past received 200 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher Certification and there after completes 300 Hours of Training in according to the percentage mentioned here is eligible for 500 Hour Certification. (200 Hours YTT + 300 Hours YTT = 500 Hours CYT)

Technical skills - Yoga (225 hours) – 45%
Must including Asana, Pranayama, Mantra, Meditation
Training in the above mentioned techniques and/or other Yogic Techniques.

Psychology and Spirituality (50 hours) – 10%
A theoretical study of Yogic, Psychological and Spiritual methods of Self  Realization and Healing. These may include but can also vary and include other aspects from the following examples: Koshas, chakras, nadis, Chitta, Manas, Buddhi, Ahamkara, Alayavjnana, Smriti, Samskaras, Vasanas , amongst others.

Anatomy and Physiology (50 hours) - 10%
Anatomy and Physiology and astral/energy/subtle Anatomy and Physiology, benefits of asanas, contraindications. 8 hours must be spent applying anatomy and physiology principles to yoga.

Philosophy, Ethics and Lifestyle (75 hours) - 15%  
Philosophy and ethics for the Yoga & Meditation Teacher, and an understanding of how to develop a healthy  lifestyle. Study of Yoga or spiritual Scriptures or the Teachings of any of Great Masters (Yoga Sutras, Patanjali, Bhagavad Gita, teachings of the Buddha etc.). This study must include ethics for the yoga teacher and Yogic lifestyle.

Teaching and Communication skills (50 hours) – 10%
Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, and the student’s process of learning, business aspect of yoga. Includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and giving feedback.

Electives hours (50 Hours) 10%
May be contact or non-contact hours distributed among educational categories according to the schools yoga tradition and style.

* Contact Hours: These are defined as hours studied in person/face-to-face under the supervision or guidance of a Teacher.
